Backup & Disaster Recovery

Backup & Disaster Recovery Because Hope Is Not a Strategy.

Ransomware, accidental deletion, a departing employee, a failed update – when data disappears, the only question that matters is: can you get it back? With TechSalty, the answer is always yes.

The Myth That Costs Businesses Everything

"It's in the cloud, so it's backed up" -no, it isn't.

Microsoft 365 runs on what's called a shared responsibility model: Microsoft guarantees the service stays online - but protecting your data is explicitly your responsibility. It's written into their service agreement.

Native retention helps with recent mistakes, but it was never designed to protect you from ransomware, malicious deletion, or anything you discover too late. That's why Microsoft itself recommends third-party backup.

What Microsoft 365 alone won't save you from

What We Offer

Complete protection,
automatic recovery.

Powered by Veeam - the industry leader in backup - and managed end-to-end by our engineers.

Microsoft 365 Backup

Exchange mailboxes, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams - backed up automatically every day, stored independently from Microsoft, recoverable to any point in time.

Azure Backup

Virtual machines, databases, and Azure file shares protected with policy-driven backups - including cross-region copies for true resilience.

Endpoint & Server Backup

Critical workstations and remaining on-prem servers imaged and protected - so a dead device never means dead data.

Ransomware Recovery

Immutable, tamper-proof backup copies that ransomware cannot encrypt or delete - your guaranteed way back without paying a cent.

Disaster Recovery Planning

A documented, step-by-step DR plan with defined recovery objectives - so when the worst happens, nobody is improvising.

Restore Testing & Reporting

Backups are only real if they restore. We test recovery regularly and send you the proof - monthly reports, zero guesswork.

The Reality

Data loss isn't rare.
Recovery without backups is.

The numbers every business owner should know before deciding backup "can wait".

# 0

Cause of business data loss is simple human error - accidental deletion and overwrites

0 Days

Default retention for many deleted M365 items - discover the loss on day 94, and it's gone

$ 1000

Paid to ransomware attackers when you can restore from immutable backups instead

Our Standard

The 3-2-1 backup rule - applied to everything.

The gold standard of data protection, built into every backup plan we manage.

Copies of Your Data

Your live data plus two independent backup copies - one failure never becomes total loss.

Different Storage Types

Backups held on separate platforms and media - so one vulnerability can't touch them all.

Off-Site & Immutable

At least one copy stored off-site and locked against changes - beyond the reach of ransomware and bad actors.

Our Proven Process

From exposed to protected in four steps.

Most clients are fully protected within the first week.

Backup Assessment

We map what data you have, where it lives, what's currently protected - and what's silently exposed.

Deploy & Protect

Veeam backup configured across M365, Azure, and devices - fully remote, with zero disruption to your team.

Define Recovery Plan

We document recovery objectives and a step-by-step DR runbook - who does what, in what order, how fast.

Monitor, Test, Report

Daily backup monitoring, regular restore tests, and monthly reports proving your data is recoverable.

Why TechSalty?

Backups you never think about.
Recovery you can count on.

The whole point of great backup is that it's boring - right up until the day it saves your business.

Veeam-Powered

Built on the industry's leading backup platform - trusted by hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide.

Tested, Not Assumed

We regularly perform real restore tests - because an untested backup is just a hope.

24/7 Monitoring

Failed backup jobs are caught and fixed the same day - not discovered during a crisis.

Compliance-Ready

Retention policies aligned to HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO requirements - audit evidence included.

FAQ

Backup & DR, answered

The questions businesses ask before getting serious about their data.

Microsoft protects the service - keeping Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams online. Protecting your data within it is your responsibility under their shared responsibility model. Native recycle bins and retention help with recent accidents, but they have time limits, can be emptied, and offer no protection against ransomware or malicious deletion. That's why a separate, independent backup is essential - Microsoft's own documentation recommends it.

Immutable means the backup copy physically cannot be altered or deleted for a set period — not by ransomware, not by a compromised admin account, not even by us. Modern ransomware specifically hunts for backups before encrypting your data; immutability is what makes that attack fail. It's the difference between negotiating with criminals and simply restoring your data.

Individual items - an email, a file, a folder - are typically restored within minutes to an hour. Full mailboxes or large SharePoint sites take longer depending on size. During DR planning we define your Recovery Time Objective (how fast you need to be back) and Recovery Point Objective (how much data you can afford to lose) - then build the backup schedule to guarantee both.

In secure, encrypted cloud storage that's completely independent of your Microsoft tenant - so an incident in your environment can't reach them. If your business has data residency requirements (common under GDPR or for healthcare), we configure storage regions to keep backups in your required jurisdiction.

Backup is one of the few areas where small businesses face the same risks as enterprises but with less ability to absorb the damage - many never recover from major data loss. The good news: M365 backup is priced per user and costs less than a coffee per person per month. It's the cheapest insurance your business will ever buy.

Us - and it's treated as a P1 critical incident with our fastest response. Your DR runbook (which we build together) defines exactly what happens: we assess the damage, begin restores in priority order, and keep you updated until everything is back. You're never left guessing or improvising during the worst day of your business year.
